Fulton County Fire Station

Fulton County Fire Station

This project consisted of the design and erection of a new 11,000sf Fire & Police Station in Alpharetta for Fulton County in order to reduce the emergency response time.  The facility includes a watch office, police station, sleeping quarters, locker rooms with showers, an apparatus bay for the fire engines and a state-of-the-art kitchen.  The kitchen consisted of all stainless steel appliances and tables, and all high-end kitchen equipment.  The facility has the capacity to  house six, 24-hour firemen with  three, full fire engine crews at any given time.

The Construction Manager for Fulton County described the project as “the best built building in the county.”The construction included a structural steel skeleton with structural masonry and a brick fascia.  Special attention to the design and exterior finishes were required due to the property’s location within the Alpharetta Heritage Committee’s District.  The main aesthetic features of the building; the windows, doors, garage doors and roofing were all required to preserve the historical appearance of the area.
